For good

Psalm 119:71 ‘It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees.’

Faith cannot be determined by the difficulties you face, such as, ‘‘If there really was a God he would not allow this to happen….’’ Only through the good of affliction do we come to have insight of how our LORD uses that affliction to teach us. Your suffering carries great lessons for you; what are these lessons? Our LORD will gift you with patience, perseverance, understanding, wisdom, the great healing of forgiveness, …….. God’s way. You will come out strengthened greatly through having gone through difficulty. Peace be with you. Bless you.

Prayer. Gracious God, may your glory shine through the difficulties that touch your children’s lives. Please enable the safe release of Fr Tom from Isis.

Joyful in hope

Mathew 7:14 ‘…but it is a narrow gate and a hard road that leads to life, and only a few find it.’

‘‘Take difficulty away LORD,’’ or ‘‘There is purpose in difficulty, I must see beyond the current difficulties.’’ But why does God use difficulty in our lives? A call to trust the Father. Romans 12:12 ‘Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.’ What is amazing is that patient in affliction is positioned in this Scripture between Be joyful in hope and faithful in prayer. What a wonderful guide for us all, the joy of hope will bring you that patience as you persist in prayer, even praying and hoping against worldly odds of triumphing over difficulty. Romans 5:5 ‘And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.’ Bless you.

Prayer. Holy Father, please strengthen all your children. Please enable the safe release of Fr Tom from Isis.

And Jesus healed all of them

Mathew 4:24 ‘….and people brought to him all those who were sick.. disorders.. paralytics.. epileptics……and Jesus healed all of them.’

‘‘But with my specific condition only surgery or medicine can help.. or a breakthrough in medical science.’’ Does this thinking pervade your mind? Blessed friends Jesus still lives today. If you suffer a serious medical or other condition you are called to persevere in prayer to be healed. And people brought to him all those… guides us that we must still bring those in need to Jesus in prayer. Does your condition prescribe that you are not worthy to be prayed for? You are worthy as a child of God. Jesus tells us in

John 14:12 ‘Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these.’ Bless you.

Prayer. Dear LORD, please bring peace on this warring world. Please enable the safe release of Fr Tom from Isis.

So that we should remain free

Galatians 5:1 ‘Christ set us free, so that we should remain free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be fastened again to the yoke of slavery.’

Who is your slave master? Jesus knows you so well, the way you reason, act and do not act. Does the following reflect your thinking? ‘‘I cannot serve our LORD because the weather is cold/hot/because I have commitments and a family/because I already do enough/because I want more money/ because I deserve to be selfish/because the LORD created me this way/I am just too busy/other.’’ We need to change our thinking and assumptions we make to a Jesus way of thinking. ‘‘What is that way?’’ That is the first step to breaking the chains of slavery. Standing firm in the abundance of Christ. Reading again and again the Gospels, reading Holy Scripture, speaking to Jesus daily. You desire true freedom. Jesus puts the answers before you. Time for service or time for slavery? Bless you.

Prayer. Holy Father may the yoke of slavery that binds your children be broken. Please enable the safe release of Fr Tom from Isis.

The call

Zephaniah 2:3 ‘Turn to the LORD all you humble people of the land.’

A deep review and reflection of the path you are on is a daily exercise. Turn to the LORD is a calling to you to change. ‘‘Why should I change?’’ Acts 17:30 ‘In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.’ Repentance in the heart will bring you out from worldly comfort and security to a state of God’s comfort and security. God provides and purposes the humble; do not wait to turn to the LORD in desperation, start now with great adoring of the LORD, confess your sins, give great thanks for each and every person and everything in your life. Ask with a humble and not a desperate heart. Time to be on your knees before the LORD. Bless you.

Prayer. Holy Father and King, dear LORD Jesus may none of your children be lost to salvation. Please enable the safe release of Fr Tom from Isis.

Please advise if any on prayer list are now well and can be removed.

Holy places

Zechariah 8: 22 ‘And many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.’

‘‘But surely I can speak to God anywhere? I don’t go to church but I believe.’’ There are also holy places that God has consecrated where he can be greatly revered beyond an impromptu prayer time – it is called church. Ephesians 5:25 ‘…..just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.’ The church is holy ground a place of reverence, meeting Jesus, worship, love, community and prayer. We are guided in St Paul’s letter 1 Corinthians 14:40 ‘But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.’ But what about the scripture of where two or three are gathered? Jesus does says he is present but does not call it church. The invitation is come to seek the LORD of hosts. Bless you.
