Overflowing its banks

Isaiah 32:20 ‘Happy and fortunate are you who cast your seed upon all waters when the river overflows its banks; for the seed will sink into the mud and when the waters subside, the plant will spring up;’

As humans we like certainty and may avoid the unknown and unpredictable. Casting seed out on a river with no certainty of the seed’s destination may seem like foolishness. We like to avoid the mud as well as it can stick to body, shoes and clothes. Our LORD combines worldly uncertainty with his purpose as he never means us to control the seed we sow. The LORD combines a flowing river, overflowing its bankssink into the mud, waters subside, the plant will spring up. What is amazing about this beautiful Scripture is that there must be a flood or turbulence before river banks overflow. The same in your life, new growth comes out of the floods of this world, the very mud we avoid is the seedbed of great things in your life. What goodness can you see germinating from your difficulties? Bless you.
