The weak and the needy

Psalm 82:4 ‘Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.’

There is often awareness of the poor, nearly as often as the poor is mentioned it is linked to the weak and needy. Proverbs 31:20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.’ The thinking may be, “But that person may cling onto me with his/her needs.” Or “I don’t want to become a crutch for that person.” Giving up self and embracing service is the calling of Christ. Christ like thinking is more, “I know have an opportunity to make a difference for my LORD.” There is an unassailable truth in that not everyone will be poor in material terms.. though perhaps spiritually poor, but everyone will at some stage of this earthly life become weak and needy. We are guided in Galatians 6:7 ‘Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.’ You can make a difference, the time is now. Bless you.
