Being challenged

Mathew 10:34 “Do not think I have come to bring peace to the world. No I did not come to bring peace but a sword.” –Jesus of Nazareth

In Ephesians 6:17 ‘…and the word of God as the sword.’ Does Holy Scripture challenge you? Or are you rather happier with things as they are? Jesus is speaking of challenging comfort zone peace and tranquility – a self-created environment, challenging our hearts. However, there is only one creator and his true peace only comes as a fruit of the Spirit, an inner peace that defies circumstances. This peace can only manifest after we have embraced the sword. The sword cuts, challenges and conquers. Have you allowed your heart to be challenged by God’s word? Hebrews 4:12 ‘…It cuts all the way through, to where soul and spirit meet….it judges the thoughts and desires of man’s heart.’ Bless you.
