Luke 18:22 “There is still one more thing you need to do. Sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven, then come follow me.”
“But I have worked hard,” “God has given me talents in order to work and provide for myself.” The seduction of humanity is through sustained thinking such as this, the reasoning is sound, however the reality is that this can become obsessive over time. We take God out of the equation in this inexorable cycle of perceived self-preservation and self-provision. Can and do you want to break this cycle? What are you really called to do for God? Only through spending much time with our LORD will you really find out. Is there space in your heart to really trust God as your provider, or are you the only one who can provide for yourself? Jesus paid a price for our salvation, what price are you prepared to pay? Is your goal comfort in this world or service to God? Bless you.
