Do not wait for the battle to come to you

Luke 18:33 ‘Whoever tries to save his own life will lose it’

There were many threads in the service at St Charles yesterday evening celebrated by Fr James, after Jesus’s titanic battle with Satan in the desert ‘The angels came and ministered to Jesus.’ We so often try and be masters of our own futures….we cannot do it alone. Jesus our LORD and Saviourneeded Holy Scripture to combat the devil; he was exhausted after the battle and was ministered to by angels. What battles are you going through this new week? Are the forces of the enemy waiting in the field before you, we are reminded that the sword of God to use in battle is his Holy Word. If we do not know the Word of God, how then will we make decisions with our conduct and speech? By worldly reasoning? We areinstructed to be ready with God’s word in Timothy. What if I get mocked? Was Jesus not mocked for you and I? 2 Timothy 4:2 ‘..to convince to reproach and encourage as you teach, with all patience.’ God is with you.

Prayer. Holy LORD please provide us with the opportunity to sow your Holy Word. Please heal and restore Stacey, Kim, Paul, Maria, Margaret, Jill, Teena, Ingrid, Debra, Trish, Michelle, Pedro, Charlotte, Chad, Anton, Mary, Fr Stanley, Nicky, Lidia, Tony, baby Mia, Kathry, Michael, Brandon, Mark and Peter. Amen
