Philemon 1:4 ‘I give thanks to God always, remembering you in my prayers’

At the beginning of a new year there are many diaries, planners and such like available; a good time to start a prayer journal. Recording not just your prayer requests, but also your thanks to God for yesterday and today’s joys, blessings and trials and future opportunities. We must be persistent in prayer, we are reminded that Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed Mathew 26:44…and prayed a third time, saying the same thing again.’ Jesus prays further John 17:13 ‘…so that they may share my joy completely.’ Jesus had joy even at the 11th hour before he was to be arrested and crucified, he also sweated blood in anguish. What an incredible example to us all of Jesus expressing joy during trial that God will give salvation to humanity through him….at a price. Good brothers and sisters give thanks in all difficulties you face they will not last, purpose must always triumph over pain. Remember our LORD in the good times as well.

Prayer. Holy Father please encourage those undergoing trials today, especially those facing ill health, challenging relationships and those questioning their faith due to circumstances that they face. Please heal and restore Debra, Trish, Kevin, Michelle, Pedro, Gill, Charlotte, Chad, Mary, Fr Stanley, Kevin V, Nicky, Lidia, Tony and baby Mia. Amen.

Note: A request for those who live in Johannesburg there is a bakery Not Bread Alone at 63 Malibongwe drive Randburg that faithfully supplies our feeding ministry for the homeless every week. Please consider supporting them as in turn you will be supporting St Vincent de Paul society of St Charles. The bakery offers light breakfasts, lunches, coffees, breads, rolls, pies, pastries, confectionary and platters. Thank you.

Please feel free to forward these mails to others or to send me their email addresses, should you not wish to receive, then kindly advise via email.
