Luke 3:52 ‘And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.’
An amazing Scripture – Jesus was not born with total wisdom, as he journeyed he gained more wisdom, the wisdom preceded the growth in favour with God and men. What can we learn from this? All of us seek wisdom, the ability to make informed and discerning choices. We are reminded that there is a first step in gaining wisdom in Proverbs 9:10 ‘The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom’ – why must I fear God we may ask? If we truly revere him as the mighty God that he is, will we treat him with disdain when we make choices? Conceivably not, with all our choices we must seek God’s way, we can be separated from God tragically by our choices. Let us commit today to seek God’s wisdom in our lives. Take time out from the busyness and ask Jesus daily to show you the way, God’s Holy Scripture lights the path.
Prayer. Holy Father, great King and LORD of all creation, we stand before you asking you to grant us a deep and discerning wisdom in choices we need to make daily. Amen.
