Our beloved Mother Mary

John 11 v 28 ‘When Mary heard this she got up quickly and went to him’

Our blessed Mother Mary is with us, we pray the Rosary, a most wonderful and beautiful prayer to ask her to intercede for us to the Lord. How do we view praying the Rosary or Divine Mercy? – Perhaps…. it takes time, it is important, why the repetition? There are many wonderful perspectives, some may be seen in our obedience in the time that we take to pray the Rosary or Divine Mercy, we are setting aside time in submission with prayer. We are asking Jesus’s mother who is so close to him, to bring our intentions to him. Mother Mary is with us and always praying for us, let us respect her authority and position with absolute reverence, set aside our busyness, cell phones off, get into a quiet space, focus and reflect on each of the Sacred Mysteries with each decade, pray from the heart , slow it down…what a wonderful uninterrupted time we will celebrate in prayer – 1 Thessalonians 5 v 17 ‘pray without ceasing’

If we had to balance how much time Mother Mary spends interceding for us against how much time we spend in praying the Rosary, Divine Mercy or other prayers, we will surely never again bring into consideration the length of time that we take to pray. . A special thank you to Manie Coopmans for his insights and assistance with today’s devotion.

Prayer: Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus, Holy Mary mother of God, pray for us sinners now and the hour of our death. Amen
